Who

CarbonCure Technologies and Lauren Concrete have partnered together to bring green concrete to Austin, TX since 2019. CarbonCure is available at Lauren Concrete Round Rock and Austin plants.

Why

According to the International Energy Association the production of cement is responsible for seven percent of the world’s CO₂ greenhouse gas emissions. CarbonCure Technologies provides a solution to lessen the carbon footprint of concrete production by not only taking carbon dioxide out of the environment, but also decreasing the need for cement.

CNN: This Concrete Can Trap CO2 Emissions

How

During the CarbonCure process, recycled CO₂ gas is injected into the concrete mix where it becomes a solid mineral and is permanently trapped in the concrete. The mineralization of CO₂ increases the strength of the concrete and therefore reduces the use of cement and fly ash.
